Jones Irwin

Jones Irwin is Associate Professor in Philosophy and Education at the Institute of Education, Dublin City University, Republic of Ireland. Since late 2014, he has been Project Officer on the Goodness Me, Goodness You! curriculum with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, which is the first state curriculum for pluralism in Ireland.His current research focus is on Values Education and he co-ordinates this specialism in the EdD programme at the Institute. He has published widely in philosophy and education, including a monograph on Freire and Critical Pedagogy; Origins, Developments, Impacts and Legacies: Paulo Freire's Philosophy of Education (Bloomsbury London/New York 2012).His forthcoming book is entitled The Pursuit of Existentialism: From Sartre and Beauvoir to Contemporary Philosophy(Routledge London 2018).
