Alexandros Kioupkiolis

ΚιουπκιοληςAlexandros Kioupkiolis born in Athens.  He studied Greek literature (classical direction) at the University of Athens and political theory at the Universities of Essex and Oxford, where he received his PhD. He has taught political theory at the Universities of Oxford and Cyprus, while in 2010 a lecturer of Aristotle concerning Political Sciences on "Current Political Theories". His research interests lie in modern philosophy of freedom, philosophy of law, theories of democracy, analysis and criticism of power. He has published, among others, the books "Radical democracy and collective movements today. The biopolitics of the multitude versus the hegemony of the people", collective volume edited by A. Kioupkioli and C. Katsampeki (Ashgate, London 2014), "Freedom after the critique of foundations. Marx, liberalism and agonistic autonomy "(Palgrave-Macmillan, Hampshire 2012), and" Political freedom. Turn democracy, post-anarchist utopias and the emergence of the crowd "(Ekkremes, Athens 2011).
