Deirdre O'Neill
Deirdre O’ Neill is a working class lecturer and filmmaker.
Her PhD explored the way in which a radical pedagogy of film grounded in the experiences, class location and everyday realities of the working class can provide a starting point for a critical engagement with and a materialist understanding of how society is organized.
She is the co-coordinator of the Inside Film Project http://www.insidefilm.org and has made films with serving prisoner and ex-prisoners she is currently filming with a group of food bank users in South London.
She has co- directed (with Mike Wayne) two films Listen to Venezuela http://listentovenezuela.info and more recently Condition of the Working Class http://www.conditionoftheworkingclass.info
